Private chauffeur in Basel

Three countries, three berths, one point of contact.

Basel lives on two things the rest of Switzerland does not have to the same degree: pharma and the Rhine. Roche, Novartis and Lonza are headquartered here, with Bayer, Moderna and Syngenta in the region — more than eight hundred companies make up the Basel Area Life Sciences Supercluster, and the Basel cluster alone accounts for around 70% of Swiss pharmaceutical manufacturing value. That means a constant flow of visitors, auditors, advisers and delegations.

And Basel is the southern terminus of the Rhine cruises. Ships leaving Amsterdam or Rotterdam end here eight days later, with passengers who must reach an airport or a hotel on the morning they disembark.

We cover both, plus hourly and daily hire, in a recent Mercedes fleet. Basel touches France and Germany, and the border changes nothing about the arrangement: our chauffeurs cross it every day.

Rhine cruises: there is no single terminal

This is Basel's trap. Ships berth in three different places — St. Johann, Klybeckquai or Dreiländereck — and the lines ask you to check the berth in your cruise documents. Dreiländereck is 40 minutes from the centre by tram, with a change and a 5 to 10 minute walk. With cases and a flight to catch, that is not a detail. Give us the ship name and the date: finding out where it berths is our job.

The pharma fabric

Roche, Novartis and Lonza are headquartered in Basel. We work for none of them and claim nothing of the sort — but their visitors, auditors, advisers and candidates come to town all year, and those journeys do not tolerate approximation.

Hourly or daily hire

A day of interviews, an audit across two sites, a run of meetings between the city and the port area: the car and the chauffeur stay at your disposal, and you never have to explain the programme twice.

EuroAirport in a quarter of an hour

EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg is 3.5 km from the centre, 15 to 20 minutes away. Zurich is 85 km out and Geneva 251 km when the flight dictates another gateway. We track the flight number in every case.

A city of three borders

Basel touches France and Germany, and EuroAirport itself is Franco-Swiss. A hotel in Saint-Louis, a plant on the German side, dinner in Alsace: our chauffeurs cross daily, and it changes neither the arrangement nor the rate.

Congresses and peak weeks

Art Basel in June, the Messe congresses, institutional sessions: in those weeks taxis thin out and hotels fill as far as Alsace. Booking ahead is not comfort, it is the only way to have a car at all.

The three cruise berths

Basel has no single terminal. Check the berth in your cruise documents, or give us the ship name and the date and we will handle it.

St. Johann

The closest to the city centre, alongside St. Johann park.

Klybeckquai

On Uferstrasse, north of the city, in the port area.

Dreiländereck

On the French-German border: 40 minutes from the centre on tram 8 to Kleinhüningen, then a 5 to 10 minute walk.

E-Class and S-Class for one to three passengers, V-Class for seven, Sprinter beyond. On a cruise disembarkation, tell us the number of cases: it is the volume, not the headcount, that decides the vehicle.
