EuroAirport lies 3.5 km north-west of Basel, 15 to 20 minutes door to door. Its peculiarity is not trivia: the airport sits entirely in France, across the communes of Saint-Louis, Hésingue and Blotzheim, yet a 2.5 km customs-free road links its Swiss sector to Basel without passing through French customs.
It is the only binational airport in the world, governed by a 1949 international convention. In the Swiss sector, Swiss authorities apply Swiss law for customs, medical services and policing. In practice: the exit you take decides whether you are in France or in Switzerland, and that is not the same thing for your luggage or for your chauffeur.

You tell us the flight, we work out the exit and position ourselves there. The Swiss sector opens onto the customs-free road to Basel; the French sector opens onto Alsace.

Basel is 15–20 minutes away, and so are Germany and Alsace. The point where the three borders meet is 4.7 km from the airport.
Private aviation and FBOs
EuroAirport handles business aviation through dedicated terminals with on-site customs and direct ramp access. We collect passengers at the aircraft where the FBO allows it, or in front of the executive terminal. Tell us the FBO when booking: access procedures differ from one operator to the next.

The border is not your problem
